We want to create lasting societal value, both through the day-to-day operation of our business and through carefully chosen partnerships with relevant organisations.
We aim to have a positive social impact wherever we have assets. We do this by facilitating direct and indirect job creation, local sourcing and the regeneration of local environment, including through engagement with community groups.
We work in partnership with clients on ongoing asset-level community engagement and invest in enhancements to support biodiversity and wellbeing at our assets, such as replanting external areas and developing external amenity areas for people to use.
We are also a proud charity partner of The Mission to Seafarers: a charity that supports the 1.5 million men and women working at sea as part of the global supply chain and logistics network used by our clients.
Supported by our donations, the charity has been able to:
- Deliver SafeTalk, a free suicide alertness course for local welfare organisations that support seafarers in the port of Rotterdam.
- Refurbish the Centre in Schiedam, Rotterdam to provide a place where local businesses, community and welfare charities can meet to help improve the welfare of seafarers visiting the port.
- Secure planning approval for a Sensory Garden in Rotterdam, which will give seafarers a space where they can seek refuge and comfort for the periods they are in the port.
